My Introduction to it….
Before I had two Grand National Parked outside of my house….
The first job I got after I graduated High school was at a pizza restaurant in the mall. There was only two cameras in the restaurant, one pointed at the cash register and the other pointed at the safe. After I worked there a couple months the store manager kept asking me to get him some coke, I constantly told him that I didn’t know anything about coke whatsoever, but he never believed me. He thought since I was a YN from the hood I was just acting like I didn’t know anything about coke. He was from Northern Michigan and the price was high and the quality was low. He would often offer me the assistant manager position with a nice little raise. I would tell him yes, I want the position, then he’d say well get me some coke.
After I don’t know how many months he said “You know what your a good worker, and you do a great job you got the assistant manager position”, and I was geeked up. He told me “Let’s see how you do counting the money, and filling out paperwork”, again I’m geeked. He stood off towards the back of the restaurant and gave me the code to the safe then told me “Let’s see if you can open the safe, grab all of the money and bring it to me and I want you to count it and fill out the bank sheet for the drop” and I went to the safe, opened it and brought all the money out the safe including the coins to him. He looked at me and smiled “I got you now” I was like what you talking about? then he told me “I got you on camera stealing all the money out of the safe, so when corporate ask me what happened I’m going to tell them you stole the money and give them the recording of you taking all the money out of the safe” then he said “UNLESS”. Being a young kid fresh out of high school I was scared as I don’t know what. I asked him UNLESS what? He told me “Unless you find me some coke”. I just knew if I didn’t find him any coke I was going to jail for robbery, so I did and I learned the game. Being young and naive, I was literally blackmailed to sell cocaine.
That was Then, This is Now….
Even though allot has went on I always wanted my own Brand, and what we go through in life makes us who we are. I figured mixing the streets with the t-shirts will make a great unique product. Most of Cooks & Company t-shirts have an essential element of the game in it.
